WELCOME TO OUR PASSION
At 1584 Design, we believe your home should be nothing short of extraordinary. Unlike the average interior design company, we don’t just decorate — we craft. Our meticulous process, decades of experience, and passion for design bring out the best in every space we work with.
Personalized Approach: We take the time to understand each client’s lifestyle and preferences, creating spaces tailored to their needs.
Attention to Detail: From the largest design elements to the smallest decorative touches, our team is meticulous in ensuring every detail is just right.
End-to-End Support: We provide full support through every phase, making the design process enjoyable and stress-free for our clients.
1 - Initial Consultation:
We'll go over your situation, goals, and vision for the space to see if your project is a potential fit for us.
2 - Property Tour:
We'll take a look at the property in-person or over video to gather the information we need for a Project Proposal.
3 - Project Proposal:
If we decide your project is a fit based on the Initial Consultation and Property Tour, we'll create a proposal for you.
4 - Agreement:
Once we're aligned on the Project Proposal, we'll take care of the paperwork defining the terms of working together.
5 - Design Approval:
We get your approval on the direction of the design and custom pieces to build the design around.
6 - Ordering & Curation:
We order custom centerpieces, then hand-pick additional items and select finishing touches to complete the design.
7 - Installation:
The final step is to bring everything together using the 11 universal design principles (Balance, Harmony and Unity, Rhythm, Proportion and Scale, Contrast, Emphasis, Functionality, Texture, Light, Color, Space).
My love for design began as a child when I would spend hours decorating and rearranging a wooden dollhouse that my uncle Glen bought for me. I was captivated by how different pieces could come together to create something beautiful, and that passion has stayed with me ever since.
With artists, woodworkers, and designers on my dad’s side, it’s no surprise that creativity runs in my veins. In high school, my uncle Glen—who studied architecture and renovated homes in Miami—encouraged me to turn my love for design into a career. Watching him transform homes motivated me to take my first interior design course and eventually pursue it in college.
After earning my design degree and working for several years in the industry, Glen gave me a special piece of our family’s history: a furniture catalog from the 1930s that belonged to my great-grandmother, Marion Kennedy, who was one of the first female interior designers in the United States.
On the catalog cover was her business card, listing her phone number: 1584 W.
In 2021, after 27 years of experience transforming residential and commercial spaces, I started my own business with my daughter Dakota. We wanted a name that honored our family’s creative legacy.
While looking through the catalog together, she came up with the perfect idea: 1584 Design.
For me, the name is more than a nod to history—it’s a reminder of where I come from and the creative roots that shaped me. Design has always been my passion, just like it was for my family before me, and I’m proud to carry that legacy forward.
